Happy Birthday DASEIN!

Today, Feb. 19th, is Dasein's 7th birthday. (It is a well-known secret that Dasein is actually an invader from outer space, so her true age -- her space age -- is vast beyond reckoning, at least couple million light years.)

Dasein, mostly, disapproves

Dasein puts Shanti in her place.

Dasein's opinion about the art of photography.

Wow! You're looking much younger than 7 earth years.
I wish you all the best... and always a full feeding dish ;)

    1. Thank you, Lastrami!
7 is suppose to be middle-aged for canines, but Dasein is really an alien invader, so there's no telling. She's the lightening rod, scourge to her subordinates (including human), the No.1 enemy of the Righteous Cats Brigade!!!!!

    2. No.1 enemy... I always wondered how you manage your personal "animal park" when you must go to work... do you separate cats & dogs?
btw: I'm very impressed by the last photography! Is it also made by the photographer, who captured Shingen so very well (Michael Duva)?

      Best wishes =^..^=

    3. It's quite challenging sometimes since my kids could be unpredictable, and I often come home to some kind of a mess! The canine-feline relationship is OK; they mostly leave each other alone. The biggest problem is SHINGEN - he's at the age where he challenges Tempo & Wu-Wei for dominance, and they get into fights. It's not so bad; it's not like they can't be in the same room, and most of the time it's pretty friendly, but there are times that the conflict escalates, and that gets me really upset.

Sometime I think about adopting Shingen out, but I really can't bear it. He is basically a sweetheart, even if he's such a bad boy.

The last photo was taken at PetCo, do you have it in Germany?
It's a big pet store chain in the US. The photography booth was set up one day as a part of promotion. It was a good deal, so the badass trio had their picture taken. (Promise was home -- his pace is different from the other three, so he usually don't walk with them.)

    4. Oh, sounds kind of complicated... Shingen of all cats, no surprise *sigh*

I hope that you never have to make a decision like "should he stay or go?". It would be hard for both of you (and for the rest of the gang).
I think you are a wonderful "cat&dog mom", your furry rascals can be very happy to be in your hand :)

      Good night

    5. Hi, Lastrami.
It is complicated -- we have a whole animal society with its own politics and power dynamics!

Shingen is definitely the trouble maker right now, but I hope he will eventually settle down. And as I said, it's manageable. Just skirmishes here and there, but not all out war. And it's my job to not to let it escalate.

It will break my heart if I had to adopt him out. He is a sweetheart, despite being SOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAD! lol
