Zen Mondo Shanti

I'm reposting a photo cartoon I originally posted on Tumbler. (Buhi-Nyan Anarchy on Tumbler is a picture collection of flat-faced dogs, and some cats. Most of the pictures are not original but stuff I found on the web.)

I made this cartoon several years ago. The pictures were taken at my old apartment in Brooklyn.

So Much for Shanti's Philosophizing. Empty Stomach=Empty Mind. And their stomachs are always empty, or so they tell me.

An impressive and convincing synopsis of their thoughts. Great photos.

    1. When I pulled out these old photos, I thought you might like it. I'm glad you did! These guys are pretty funny. They make me laugh every day, but also they make me scream every day too! There's always some surprises -- usually of the messy kind... sigh.

    2. True that! I like it very much :)
The messy kind...oops. That can frazzle you out. I guess that's the reason for the blankets, visible in some photos? Pollux has also some bad habits since he's indoors >:-( Ugh, yuck! (OK, he was already spraying before, but did it solely outside the house.) But our "furry kids" right it with all the wonderful moments they give us, don't they? :)

    3. Ugh, spraying is a big problem! Shingen sprays sometimes too, although he is neutered. Shingen is always doing something to get in trouble. sigh.

    5. Dear Chitose,
is everything OK with you and your pets?

I was recently reading about a German facebook user: he received an adhartory letter, because he had shared a link. A thumbnail was automatically generated (shown on the users timeline as far as I know).
And that small thumb was the stumbling block. Isn't that incredible!?

Now he is required to pay 1800 Euro. 600 Euro charges plus 1200 Euro, because he contravened the image copyright. Unbelievable!
      Bye-bye facebook ...

If we ever get new laws in Germany (or move to another country, haha), I'll return to FB. Maybe.

      Best wishes :)

    6. Dear Lastrami,
That's terrible. I can understand your concern. It's too risky, when one can accidentally do something and unknowingly, and then get penalized so stiffly.

But I think German government will have to eventually adjust to the new cyber realities. Copyright protection and all that's important, but now people are sharing so much online, and they can not prevent German citizen from participating in this new world. To do so will be a detriment to the cultural development of the country.

Is this the way it is only in Germany or the entire EU? The strictness of the internet law that you point out seems a bit excessive and scary, reminding too much of censorship and state control -- specter of another time!

But let's keep in touch. Hope you will visit me here or maybe just leave comment on my FB postings if you feel like it. I think just reading other people's stuff must be pretty safe.

  2. Oh yes, I visit your blog regularly :)

That facebook issue I told about seems to be an isolated case so far...phew!
I requested an account deletion, but there's still the possibility to reactivate it. Maybe I'll do so... if I'm not logged in, I can't see if you posted something.

No news here... I'm still fetching things from my old flat, but don't know how to stow all the stuff! Time for a good clear out. But I hate to throw things away :( I could try to sell it at ebay or make a garage sale, haha.

Many greetings from Pollux & Nefi (and me, of course)

    1. Hi! Lastrami!
I hope you reactivate your account, so we can keep in touch, but if you feel uncomfortable, probably it's not worth it. However if you just look, I don't really see why there should be any problem

I know, storage is a big problem. The new house is actually smaller than my old condo. I still have stacks & stacks of boxes in the living room. I haven't been able to put aside any time to work on them. It's rather depressing. (But on the bright side, it gives the cats plenty of places to climb! So that's not so bad! Right!?)

    2. You're right, I think there's no risk.

Haha, yes... cats & boxes :D
The same here. If we buy a cat toy or scratcher, they are more interested in the shipping carton *grumble*
